VIEWS OVER THE BAY OF BISCAY
They found a ruined house and planned to give it a complete makeover. Making use of the existing building structure, we laid out the distribution of the home, the roof and the floors, and gave it balconies and a porch where its occupants can enjoy magnificent sea views. This complete makeover was carried out in Tazones, Asturias, so we had to go to them to provide this complete interior decoration service.
The use of white with blue and green details stands out, particularly the blue windows that blend in with the houses of the same color which are typical of the area. The wood features have been left exposed so that the grain is visible and the natural realism of the organic wood can be seen and felt.
To liven up the home, we used a French-Basque-style railing, with items retrieved from a property owned by the family, who are antiquarians and brocante dealers. The elondo wood floorboards were also carefully removed from a house owned by the family, as was the fireplace on the porch, which stands them in good stead on cool evenings.
For the Natalia Zubizarreta Interiorismo studio, this project has entailed the creation of a home that strikes a balance between the new and the lived-in. A little bit of heaven in the picturesque village of Tazones.
